L’ÓFFICIEL 25.10.2018 | "BEIRA SURPREENDE COM SEU TRABALHO NATURAL E CHIQUE"

L’OFFICIEL 25.10.2018 | "BEIRA SURPRISES WITH HER NATURAL AND CHIC WORK"

Designer Lívia Campos presented her new collection and revealed details.

"Beira" can be understood as a place of transition, the boundary between one thing and another, and this is how designer Livia Campos defines the brand. The pieces do not have a defined collection and are part of a single continuous collection. The designer, who studied industrial design at PUC in Rio de Janeiro, gradually approached fashion through interdisciplinary university projects, but ultimately fell in love with it and chose fashion. The entire creative process is based on the construction of the garment.

Lívia says she had complete freedom to create the show and that ideas emerge at the cutting table, inspired by the garment's construction. All fabrics used are natural fibers, mostly 100% silk or 100% cotton, and from national suppliers.

The leftover fabrics from the last collection were sent to a laundry to be discharged of color. In this process, it's not possible to obtain the same color again. The challenge was to work with the color nuances and textures that resulted in a "subtle palette that stimulates calmness," according to the designer.

The meticulous finishes of the pieces are an important point, with straight, inclined seams to make a garment as well-made on the inside as on the outside. The always ample and genderless silhouette, designed to dress men and women, is also a strong characteristic of the brand, which believes that "it is us who carry this gender information," as Lívia told us backstage at SPFW. She also said that she wants to reach more and more people by making democratic clothing for everyone. The result was a chic collection that will be very successful on the racks!
